Egyptian restaurant Alexandria’s Pearl announced plans to open on Monday, December 23 at 1535 N. Stone Ave.
The 4,400-square-foot building previously housed an unaffiliated hookah lounge. Before that, it held District Tavern Eatz, which closed in March, and Classic Spaghetti Western Steakhouse, which closed in July 2018.
Decor features Arabic seating in the style of jalsa majlis. Seating accommodates around 100.
“With Egyptian artifacts and wall art everywhere around the restaurant, it’ll almost feel like walking into a pyramid,” said Carlos Gonzalez, general manager at Alexandria’s Pearl. “The place is themed after the coastal city of Alexandria, where the owners [Aly Elkanany and sons] grew up.”
The menu will feature a combination of authentic Egyptian meals along with popular and unique Arabic dishes. A lunch and dinner buffet will also be available. On weekends, the restaurant will feature kahvalti and Egyptian breakfast.
“If you are a hardcore seafood lover or a dedicated vegan we have all you need,” Gonzalez said. “Our menu will accommodate anyone that walks in through our doors. We will also offer special order desserts that can be ordered in advance for family dishes.”
Menu prices will generally range from $8 to $18. Family meal options will also be available.
Additionally, the restaurant will offer prepared meals via their partner Meal Prep AZ.
One last thing; the restaurant will also feature a gaming lounge with four televisions with gaming consoles. The restaurant opening is the first priority, so the gaming lounge may come a little later.
Operating hours will be 10 a.m. – midnight Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – 2 a.m. Friday through Sunday.
Stay tuned for another article once the restaurant is open and we get to try the food.
