"If you feel it in your hearts to help us offset the costs, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

As a way to give back to the frontline workers in the medical field, Le Buzz Caffe has kicked off its “Cookies and Coffee for Heroes” program.

Once a month, the team will be working hard to “caffeinate and sugar up” the staff in the COVID Unit and Emergency Room at Banner – University Medical Center South.

“The reason we choose this location is because one of our beloved bakers has been unable to work with us,” said Le Buzz Caffe’s manager, Kim Budenski. “His partner is a doctor in her residency program at Banner South and is working directly with the COVID patients. He didn’t feel that it was safe to potentially expose his co-workers.”

Le Buzz Caffe has set up a GoFundMe for the community to get involved in donating the delicious cookies and cups of caffeine. Also, if you’d like to donate while visiting either of its two locations, you can do that as well.

The bakery and coffee shop now joins the likes of Feast, Senae Thai Bistro, “Tamales for Heroes” by Flores Concepts, and many other local businesses that have been lending support to those in the medical field.

It’s proof that the community can still shine a light on the gloomiest of days.

Le Buzz Caffe is located at 9121 E. Tanque Verde Rd. and 2930 N. Swan Rd. For more information about donating to the “Cookies and Coffee for Heroes” program, visit gofundme.com.
