Created in collaboration with El Tour de Tucson, the beer honors both the event and the longstanding relationship between the cycling and brewing communities.

Whether you’re an IPA fan or not, Ten55 Brewing’s latest creation is an easy-drinking, tasty, non-bitter opus of what an IPA is capable of.

Created in collaboration with El Tour de Tucson as the official beer of the tour, which for those less in the know is an annual cycling race and fundraiser that zigs, zags, and loops over 100 miles around Tucson. The El Tour Blood Orange IPA honors both the event and the longstanding relationship that exists between the cycling and brewing communities.

“We have some avid cyclists on the Ten55 team and have run the Tucson Gran Fondo for the past couple of years,” says Chris Squires, managing partner of Ten55 Brewing Company. “When we met the team at El Tour de Tucson, we hit it off right away and collaborated to create a beer that honors the significance of this event to Tucsonans and cyclists worldwide.”

Coming in drinkable at 4.7% ABV and not overly hoppy at just 55 IBU, Ten55’s El Tour Blood Orange Session IPA (yeah, it’s a mouthful), is brewed with both Amarillo and Mosaic hops, blood oranges, and is mellower than a typical west coast IPA. (Editor’s note: If there’s a more drinkable IPA, let me know in the comments, as I’d be highly interested.) Ten55’s brewers, Steve Fogg and Patrick Heacock handled all aspects of the beer, inception to getting it into cans.

The beer will be available on tap at Ten55 Brewing beginning September 27. Additionally, a variety of local craft beer shops and local taps will feature the brew, which is being distributed by Finley in both keg and can form.

Ten55 will also host the beer garden at the official El Tour de Tucson event on November 20.
