After a successful endeavor in 2020, Jonathan Landeen, owner of Jonathan’s Cork, is launching his food drive for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. This year’s big event is happening from Friday, November 5 to Wednesday, December 22.
“We wanted to get out ahead of the pack this year with an extended effort to help ensure that the Food Bank will be able to serve everyone in need this holiday season,” said Landeen.
If you’re in the giving spirit this holiday season, all items may be dropped off at Jonathan’s Cork from 3 – 9 p.m. on Monday – Thursday and 3 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“This is truly a labor of love,” said Business Manager, Rovella Ruscitti, who’s once again spearheading the campaign. “Last year, with the help of our generous guests, we delivered 2000 pounds of food and over $500 in cash donations in just a month.
There are a few things they’re not accepting, though, like glass containers or pre-opened items. If you don’t have any of these to donate you’re more than welcome to make cash donations, too, which will be sent directly to the Food Bank.
“I am confident that we will beat that record this year,” said Ruscitti.
As an added bonus, Bar Manager Jeff Hughes will be serving up cocktail specials at the restaurant — especially for those who take the time to bring a food donation throughout the campaign.
Jonathan’s Cork is located at 6320 E. Tanque Verde Rd. For additional information, visit jonathanscork.com.
