Last Day to Eat at Rocco’s Original Location is…

October 2, 2024
By Matt Sterner

It’s something many of us have known for a while now, but the time has finally come.

Rocco’s Little Chicago is rearin’ up to relocate, moving from 2707 E. Broadway Blvd. to 2555 E. Broadway Blvd. This is the Sol Block — a historic building on The Sunshine Mile (that particular area of Broadway Boulevard).

The final day to dine at the original location is Sunday, October 6 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The move isn’t too far. It’s maybe a one-minute walk from the original location, but just in case you need some guidance, the Rocco’s crew made a nifty graphic to get you off on the right foot.

Like a hand-tossed pizza, the official opening of the brand-new location is still up in the air, but they’re aiming to open before the end of October.

They’ll be neighbors with The Broadway (the sister concept to Caps & Corks), Decibel Coffee, and more businesses that will eventually open in the building.

Rocco’s journey began in the late ’90s when a restaurant space at 2707 E. Broadway Blvd. was on the market. Now, more than 25 years later, the team is ready to expand.

The new location will have a bigger bar, more tables, a wider patio area, and a more spacious kitchen to allow Anthony “Rocco” DiGrazia to keep making his iconic pizzas. They’ve even brought in a couple of the old bathroom doors from the former Bum Steer (it was demolished back in 2020).

One piece of Rocco’s legacy that will not be moving to the new spot is the iconic marquee sign. According to DiGrazia, the city’s sign code/law won’t allow it on the new property.

So, stay tuned for the official grand opening of the new Rocco’s location, but in the meantime, try your best to eat at the original location before they close at the end of the day on Sunday, October 6 (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.).

Rocco’s Little Chicago is located at 2707 E. Broadway Blvd. but will soon open at 2555 E. Broadway Blvd. For more information, visit roccoslittlechicago.com and follow Rocco’s on Facebook and Instagram.
