Wee-ooo, wee-ooo, wee-ooo! Wing alert, wing alert!
Happy Wing Wednesday! New year, new wings. I’m back on the grind from the holidays — always searching for new delicious wings. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. Starting 2025 off strong, I even ate some home-cooked wings from new friends. Shout out to Joel and Ashley!
Having just golfed in Green Valley on a perfect 75-degree day, I worked up quite the appetite. So, we headed to the very conveniently located Pub 22 in Sahuarita. This Si Charro! restaurant is not your typical El Charro Café — it’s more of a classic sports bar, making it a great place to watch the big game. I ordered two flavors of their fried wings: the prickly pear barbecue and mango habanero. Nicely fried with a good crisp.
The wings come with fries and carrots, which was a nice bonus, and I personally loved the mango habanero. My meal was much better than my golf game!

This vodka infusion bar offers $5 house-infused vodka cocktails at all times, making it one of my favorite drinking establishments in Tucson. However, their food shouldn’t be ignored.
The kitchen stays open until midnight every day of the week and always hits the spot. So, of course, I got their wings. I ordered a cucumber Moscow mule, house-sauced wings (a garlic parmesan and buffalo mix), and their siracha barbecue. These baked, lightly breaded, and then fried wings came out hot and added a nice crisp without too much breading.
The sauces were great, but the preparation and meat quality of the wings stole the show. Quality and affordability deliver a home run every time.

This south side Chinese restaurant was recommended to me by a couple of people in more than one foodie-related social media group.
My go-to order at Chinese restaurants is sesame chicken and it happens to be one of their wing flavors. I also ordered their spicy salt wings. Both wing flavors were perfect! On the sesame chicken wings, the sauce reminded me of all the classic flavors and they came with a broccoli garnish. Their spicy salt wings came sauteed with garlic, peppers, and onions, and served on a bed of cabbage.
Both had an excellent light, airy breading and packed a punch of flavor.
