Wings y Más in Tucson is spicing up the local wing scene with a taste of Mexico and the American South. The family-owned restaurant offers classic flavors like Buffalo and Garlic Parm, but the Low Country wing flavor brings coastal flair to its menu. Each order comes out hot, crispy and packed with the Southern-inspired seasoning.
However, the journey to this Southern-infused menu began in a former neighborhood bar. The building previously housed the Elbow Room, a bar that gained national attention on TV’s Bar Rescue, before rebranding to Billy Bar and closing in 2023.
Aubriana and Chad Vargas saw potential in the space and transformed it into a wing-focused eatery. They opened Wings y Más on July 7, 2023, bringing a locally owned restaurant to 1145 W. Prince Rd. in Tucson.
Meanwhile, the new Low Country wings add the essence of a classic seafood boil to the lineup. The sauce is inspired by Lowcountry boil flavors, blending butter, Cajun spices, and a generous amount of garlic for a tangy, savory kick.
The menu also features Tostitos Preparados, a Mexican street snack of Tostitos loaded with cucumber, carrot, peanuts, chamoy, lime, and Tajín. Meanwhile, sides like beer-battered fries and loaded tots round out the comfort food offerings.
