After a recent return to business, Bentley’s House of Coffee & Tea at 1730 E. Speedway Blvd. decided to permanently close its doors Wednesday, December 29.
The popular cafe posted the following letter to Tucsonans on Facebook:
“After much deliberation, the time has come for us to announce that, as of today, we will be closing Bentley’s House of Coffee and Tea. After 38 incredible years, the enormity of this decision is not lost on us. Thank you to the hundreds of people we have worked with over the years who have made Bentley’s the welcoming, inclusive, and creative safe space that we envisioned.”
Bentley’s had just reopened in September 2021 after being temporarily closed for months due to the pandemic. Over the last few months, the crew was serving up tasty specials and getting back into the swing of things.
“To our Tucson community: we have loved being a part of your lives and thank you for being a part of ours.”
The family also operates LaCo and Tallboys at 201 N. Court Ave., so take a trip down to the beautiful patio and space if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. They recently opened up back in September 2020 after a short hiatus — adding the former Dusty Monk Pub spot to the family.
