“Lindy’s Off 4th” on Tanque Verde Road closed after 22 months in business

Lindy’s Off 4th, cousin restaurant to Lindy’s On 4th, quietly closed its doors after 22 months in business.

The 5,100-square-foot restaurant at 8995 E. Tanque Verde Rd. had the following notice on their door:

To our Valued Customers,

With deep regret we are closing the Lindy’s on Tanque Verde location only, due to one of the owners going through cancer treatment. This was not an easy decision but a necessary one for the well-being of our family. Thank you for your kindness, support and understanding. We are selling the building to Larsen Baker and they will rent to another family to be a part of the community.

Please join us, February 13th, 14th, & 15th to celebrate with us and our wonderful time on Tanque Verde.

God Bless You
The Lindys Family

The phone number at the restaurant is now disconnected.

Lindy’s Off 4th opened in April 2018 in the space that previously housed El Paso-based Great American Steakburger.

Lindy’s On 4th, the original Lindy’s location, opened in December 2005, then gained fame in December 2009 for its two-kilogram OMFG Challenge. It moved from its original location at 431 N. Fourth Ave. to its current location at 500 N. Fourth Ave. in April 2017.

@Jundynasty has served Sichuan dishes on Grant Road for 13 years.🌶️

General manager Jacob Yeung credits one idea above all: “We’ve grown since then, but the key has always been consistency.”

Stop in for Flaming Chili Oil, Walnut Shrimp, chow fun, or sautéed green beans finished with Sichuan peppercorns. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”
