Tap & Bottle sister bar, bottle shop “Westbound” grand opening at MSA Annex

May 29, 20181 min read

The MSA Annex will welcome Westbound, Tap & Bottle’s sister bar located in the new shipping container annex, with beer, wine, and spirits.

While the bar has been quietly soft open “for practice,” the official grand opening is from 5 – 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30.

Music will be provided by DJ RYGAR from 5 – 7 p.m. and Hey, Bucko! from 7 – 9 p.m.

Westbound utilizes two of the several shipping containers at the MSA Annex. One shipping container features a bottle shop with spirits, wine, and beer, many of which are located in a walk-in refrigerator. The other shipping container features a bar with several beers, wines, and cocktails on tap.

Guests can sit at the bar comfortably with swamp cooling or at one of several surrounding shaded tables.

Current cocktail choices include a MargaritaBoulevardierCucumber Rhumba, and Punch Drunk Love.

While the outdoor seating is perfect for taking advantage of Tucson’s cool nights, there’s one more notable perk — the liquor license applies to the whole MSA Annex, so guests can walk around with their libations to check out the neighboring businesses in shipping containers.

Operating hours are noon – 10 p.m. Monday – Thursday, noon – 11 p.m. Friday – Saturday, and noon – 8 p.m. Sunday.

Westbound is located at 267 S. Avenida del Convento #12. Keep up with Westbound on Facebook.

Tucson’s barbecue options range from food trucks to full-service dining rooms. Some focus on classic Texas-style plates with butcher paper and simple sides. Others experiment with fusion dishes that blend barbecue with Mexican and Southwestern flavors. This variety gives diners plenty of options, whether they want a quick lunch or a sit-down meal.
