Supporting a local coffee shop just got a little more convenient.
The locally-owned Roadrunner Coffee Co., which has been serving warm and cold cups of brew for 14 years now, has opened a second location in the shape of a drive-thru kiosk.

The new drive-thru located at 1545 W. Wetmore Rd. has been open now for a couple of weeks, but on Friday, March 26 – Saturday, March 27 they’re hosting its grand opening celebration from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day.
There’s going to be free drip and cold brew coffees, gift cards, and hydro flask giveaways.
If ordering in your car isn’t your cup of coffee then you can stop by the original location from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily at 9665 N. Thornydale Rd., Suite 110. The shop opened up on the northwest side of town back in 2004, serving hand-crafted espresso and coffee drinks, smoothies, Italian sodas, sandwiches, and pastries.
The new drive-thru’s hours on Wetmore are 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday – Friday and 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Roadrunner Coffee’s new drive-thru is located at 1545 W. Wetmore Rd. For more information, visit roadrunnercoffeeco.com.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
