Sir Veza’s Taco Garage received national praise recently when Men’s Health magazine included the hot rod themed Mexican food restaurant in their Best Airport Restaurants in America roundup.

“Airport food is guilty of being bland and expected, but the menu here is spicy and very flavorful. I love their $8 lunch specials and Garage Tacos,” said Samantha Brown, host of Travel Channel’s Great Weekends.

Sir Veza’s began as a lone restaurant on the northwest corner of Speedway and Swan and quickly grew in popularity. After opening a second location at the Tucson Mall, complete with lowrider room, the Flores family (of El Charro fame) set their sights on Phoenix. With three locations that include Chandler Fashion Center, US Airways Center, and the Sky Harbor Airport location, Sir Veza’s is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Although the feature makes no direct mention of Tucson, Sir Veza’s Ray Flores can’t help but associate the mention with his restaurant’s (and his) hometown.

“It’s always great when a Tucson brand gets national press. The media tends to look at Tucson second to Phoenix, so it was a real honor to be included.”
