How and when did you first become interested in beer?
Growing up in the Northwest, craft beer was a part of regular culture. I would see my parents and their friends drinking Redhook, Pyramid, and Alaskan. Naturally those were the beers that my friends and I stole from the fridge. I’ve been hooked on good beer for a long time.
What do you think you bring to the brewing game that makes you stand out?
Our love for the raw ingredients that go into our beer. We never stop searching for new and rare hops. We’ve begun to transition to mostly organic grains. The quality of the beer you produce is a direct reflection of the quality of ingredients you use.
Top five beers you’ve sampled recently (only include ONE of yours)
We have a lot of people bring us beers from around the Southwest and the country. The most recent samplings that stand out are:
1. Big Bad Baptist, Epic Brewing
2. An IPA from Bosque Brewing from Las Cruces, NM.
3. Saison Lomaland, Modern Times
4. Hoppy Yum Yums, Public Brewhouse
5. And of course we love drinking our own beer. I’m loving the Ella + Galaxy IPA that is on tap now.
Beers you’ll be featuring at the beer crawl?
Our collaboration beers that we brewed especially for Arizona Beer Week. We are brewing one with Fate Brewing out of Phoenix and one with our Tucson friends, 1055 and Dragoon, and Encore, a triple IPA.
