National Margarita Day is quickly approaching, and Blanco Tacos + Tequila is holding their first ever National Margarita Day Recipe Contest.

According to the National Margarita Day website, of course there is one, here’s how it started. “There is much debate as to the exact individual responsible for inventing the classic margarita, although it was during the 1930’s or 1940’s. Frozen margaritas were invented later in 1970’s when an inventive bartender converted a soft serve ice cream unit into a frozen margarita machine.”

It doesn’t matter if you prefer your margarita on the rocks or frozen, salt or no salt we now have a national day to celebrate this tequila based cocktail.

So, margarita enthusiasts grab your blender and favorite tequila and enter your personal recipes to the contest until February 14. Entries will be chosen by the creativity of the margarita name and recipe.

When submissions draw to a close, Blanco will choose the four best recipes. To vote, visit Blanco between National Margarita Day on February 22 and February 24 and submit a ballot for your favorite recipe.

Guests will be able to sample the winning recipe, or “people’s choice” margarita of Arizona, at all Blanco locations for the entire month of March.

In addition to bragging rights, the winner will receive a Fox Restaurant Concepts $200 gift card.
