Tucson Foodie has partnered with Tucson Craft Beer Crawl for 2016 and is proud to feature Brewer Profiles. Each profile features a select Craft Beer Crawl brewer. This profile features David Figueroa.

How and when did you first become interested in beer?

I came to work at Barrio in 2009.  I started out washing and filling kegs, by 2010 I was involved in the brewing process and I loved it.  I’m still brewing most of the beer here at Barrio.  It is always ongoing learning experience.

What do you think you bring to the brewing game that makes you stand out?

I strive for consistency with each batch.  I have a good historical knowledge of our brands and styles and pay attention to the details that make our beers stand out.

Top five beers you’ve sampled recently (only include ONE of yours)

  1. Barrio Brewing Nitro Mocha Java Stout
  2. Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
  3. Ballast Point Victory at Sea
  4. New Glarus Belgian Red
  5. Marble Red

Beers you’ll be featuring at the beer crawl?

Rae’s Ruby Red – our Grapefruit IPA, and Barrio Rojo.
