Not all cyberslacking is unfruitful.

How else would one know that Contigo posted its new menu on Facebook today?

For those not in the know, Contigo, a long time Tucson favorite that closed semi-recently with no plan to reopen has, in fact, reopened.

The pan-Latin restaurant opened quietly yesterday in the former Poppy Kitchen space, which was also home to J-Bar for years at Westin La Paloma. Contigo’s new menu offers many old favorites and new dishes.

A small selection of highlights include:

  • Las Favoritas – Dates stuffed with Spanish chorizo, wrapped in smoked pork
  • Boquerones – White anchovies, tomato tapenade, grilled bread
  • Arepa Lechona – Brazilian stewed pork, spicy mango sauce, and Cotija
  • Chuletas – Lamb chops marinated in parsley and lemon, mint chimichurri and french fries

For the full story on Contigo’s reopening, see our recent feature Contigo Cocina Latina To Reopen In Former Poppy Kitchen Space.

And, here’s the menu in its entirety:
