To show off your treasured pie baking skills or if you just want to sample local pies, check out a new pie bake-off, dubbed simply “Pie Bake-Off” at Playground Sunday, October 2.

Pie competitors register online, pay the $15 registration fee, and submit three identical pies to the event at Playground between noon – 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.

Tasters will sample pies from 1 – 4 p.m. and vote for their favorite. Tickets are $8 online, $10 at the door. As a limited time promotion, two tickets are $15 until September 18.

There will also be a judging panel, which includes Danny Perez, executive chef at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa and two-time winner of Iron Chef Tucson, and Tucson Foodie’s own Jackie Tran.
