This Week At The Market: Hatch Green Chiles, Cucumbers, Salsa & Kettlecorn

Welcome to National Farmers Market Week! This week marks the 17th annual celebration of farmers, ranchers, local entrepreneurs and the community that enjoys their products. The last week brought cooler temperatures, increased precipitation and greener surroundings. Monsoon season created flourishing, vibrant vegetation and the beneficiaries are the customers at the farmers market.

Community Food Bank Farmers Markets

The Community Food Bank runs a produce consignment program to support local farms, build a strong regional food system and create more food security. It offers backyard gardeners and small farmers the opportunity to sell locally-grown produce, eggs, nuts, honey and dry goods at a shared farmers market table.

Santa Cruz River Farmers Market

100 S. Avenida del Convento – Thursday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

  • The Roasted Chile will be roasting prickly pears and serving up green chile & prickly pear lemonade. After a pear is roasted, all spines are burned off leaving a plump, juicy fruit ready to eat or make into juice or jam. New Mexico’s Hatch Green Chiles are available in Tucson early! They will be available each Thursday
  • Arivaca Community Farm has sweet, delicious dates as well as a kale, chard and basil.
El Pueblo Mobile Market

El Rio Parking lot, Irvington Road and 6th Avenue – Monday 3:00  – 5:00 p.m

Community Food Bank Farm Stand

3003 S. Country Club Road – Tuesday 8:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m

  • The produce Abundant Harvest Cooperative has collected this week includes Armenian cucumbers, eggs, sprouts, grapes, wild arugula and fresh herbs.

Northwest Farmers Market

6200 N. La Cholla Boulevard, Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Skye Island Olive and Grapes is your stop for a variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
St. Philip’s Plaza Farmers Market

4280 N. Campbell Road, Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

  • Z&D Kettlecorn pops up a delicious, fresh snack. Pick up a small, medium or large bag. We recommend the big bag.
  • Del Cielo Tamales is a loving, family run business with different kinds of tamales and flavored waters.

Heirloom Farmers Markets

Do you ever wonder what to do with all of the beautiful produce and other local products you pick up at the market?   • Fruit Monster Popsicles creates hand crafted all natural fruit popsicles for you to enjoy. Cool off and enjoy your fruit in a frozen, delicious and refreshing form.
Trail Dust Town (6541 E. Tanque Verde Road) – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
