If you need to prove your chile pepper bravado or you’re simply sadistic, check out the Afterburner Challenge at Wings Over Broadway at 5004 E. Broadway Blvd.
Not to be confused with the No Mercy wings, the hottest wings on the menu, the Afterburner Challenge isn’t on the menu. You have to ask for it.
The Afterburner sauce clocks in at a whopping 3,000,000 Scoville units, making habaneros look like ice cream at only 100,000 to 300,000 in comparison. It’s even several times worse than spraying civilian pepper spray directly in your mouth, which often scores 500,000 to 1,000,000 on the Scoville scale.
