While the Tucson Festival of Books is a wonderful place for avid readers, it also provides a rare opportunity to meet – and see in action – famous chefs and culinary authors from around the country.
This year, the festival will feature seven culinary authors on March 11 and 12 at the University of Arizona Mall.
The authors will present in the festival’s culinary tent, a 300-person tent which includes a demonstration kitchen.
Authors include Julia Tursen and John Ash of Small Victories: Recipes, Advice + Hundreds of Ideas for Home Cooking Triumphs, Naomi Pomeroy of Building Blocks of a Restaurant Chef, and Victor Hazan of Ingredienti: Marcella’s Guide to the Market.Â
John Ash and Naomi Pomeroy are both winners of the James Beard Award.
Ryan Clark, Executive Chef at Casino Del Sol, worked with culinary tent co-chairs Jennifer Slothower and Mary Barker to pair the local talents with visiting cookbook authors.
At 4 p.m. on March 11, Tucson Foodie’s own Adam Lehrman is moderating a talk with Pomeroy, who happens to have one of the prettiest food Instagram accounts.
Festival admission and parking are free.
