After three months of inactivity on Facebook, Corbett Brewing Company quietly opened on Friday.

The 18,000-square-foot brewery at 414 N. 5th Ave. currently features eight taps with two of their own beers on tap: Stone Face Amber and Hop Back Amber.

Corbett brewmaster Cody Sexson, previously of Helldorado Brewing Co. in Tombstone, uses a seven-barrel system for ales with plans for a blue agave IPA and mandarin vanilla hefeweizen in the works. The hops used are old world, while the brewing style is traditional. As of now, you’ll have to visit the brewery to try their beer.

“We’re not trying to distribute our beers,” Sexson said. The exceptions will be the Hut, O’Malley’s On Fourth, and Bob Dobbs Bar & Grill, which Corbett owner Scott Cummings also co-owns.

While the interior and patio seem bare-bones with minimal decor, it’s only a fraction of what’s in store for the space. Another room will offer additional private seating with a long community table, while plans for another room include a full-fledged pizzeria. No time frame is available yet, however.
