The annual walk has two locations this year.
It’s all about raising awareness — and your heart rate, too.
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is hosting its annual HungerWalk at the Kino Sports Complex and La Posada in Green Valley at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 14.
The month of September is Hunger Action Month and what better time to throw a HungerWalk and give back to members of the community that need it the most, right?
Whether you’re living in Tucson or Green Valley or would rather travel to one of the cities, you’ve got two convenient locations to choose from.
The Tucson route is a 1.5 mile trek through a part of the town that harbors the Community Food Bank’s main warehouse — giving you an up close look at the hunger-relief efforts happening in town.
If you’re planning on strutting in Green Valley, you’ve got two options. There’s a shorter router that’s nearly a mile long and a second route that’s two miles.
The event will also have music, entertainment, door prizes, a light breakfast, and either a HungerWalk t-shirt or a “Hunger Hero Cape.”
You must register for the walk and it’s $25 for adults, $10 for children six to 12 years old and anyone five years and younger can walk for free.
You can catch the HungerWalk at the Kino Sports Complex’s Sam Lena Park at 3400 S. Country Club Rd., or at the La Posada at 350 E. Morningside Rd., Green Valley, AZ. For more information on the two locations, visit communityfoodbank.org.
