Tucson was already slim pickings for dim sum and now it’s really scarce.

Much like the closing of longtimers Chicago Bar and Athens on 4th Avenue, Gee’s Garden on 1145 N. Alvernon Way quietly shut its doors after years in business.

The restaurant closed back in June after its landlord filed a “forcible detainer” with the Superior Court of Pima County. A sign posted on the building states:

“The date, the landlord has not received adequate rental payments in accordance to the lease in the amount of $189.378. Plus other accruing charges.”

In 2017, the owner of Gee’s Garden opened Dim Sum House on campus. However, it closed before it ever reached its full potential.
