“Drink This” is your source for the newest and freshest local beers in town. Breaking beer news about seasonal and specialty brews, one-offs, brand-new beers, and the freshest tappings of your favorite local standbys. The beers you need now, and where to get them while they’re fresh.

The time is ripe to try Bawker Bawker Cider House’s very first all-pear hard cider. In Bawker Bawker’s two-plus years of being Tucson’s first and only hard cider house, all of their vibrant ciders have had one major thing in common — they each start with a base of Pacific Northwest apples.

After the apples, the ciders are infused, blended, and married with other fruits, spices, and herbs before fermentation to create a rainbow of unique cider flavors. That is until Perry’s Pear Cider came along. Pears, more pears, and nothing but pears were used to create this juicy hard cider, and it’s a bountiful mouthful of flavor.

Perry’s Pear Cider is supremely juicy and a little sweeter than Bawker Bawker’s usual offerings (which lean towards the dry side, thanks to longer fermentation times). If you had “apple-free hard cider” on your bingo card, if you shy away from gluten, or if you’re a cider fan itching to try something new and different, now is the time.

Round out your visit to Bawker Bawker with one of their rotating hard cider slushies — Concord Grape and Apple flavors are on tap now.

Bawker Bawker Cider House is located at 400 N. Fourth Ave. For more information, visit bawkerbawker.com.
