Earlier this month, A Webooo! Mexican Bar and Grill opened at 605 N. Fourth Ave., bringing mariscos, birria, and karaoke to the area.
The new concept is located inside the former Magpies spot, which had been dishing out pizzas in the space for more than 30 years before closing in May 2024.
There’s a lot to talk about on the menu, and you’re in luck if you’re a seafood lover here in the dusty desert. There’s a nifty lineup of fish, shrimp, aguachile, etc. and, for those looking for something fun, disassembling the torre de marisco — a piled-high tower of seafood surrounded by tortilla chips — should be on your list.
Tacos are served a la carte or in threes — carne asada, pollo asado, quesabirria, pescado, and more.
The tacos governador are one of their specialties: marinated shrimp that’s topped with melted cheese. For an oceanic combo, check out the taco a webooo! — a folded treasure chest of beer-battered shrimp and fish.
Sonoran hot dogs, chile rellenos, enchiladas, and even a burger section are on menu. The Mexican burger is a mighty meal topped with spicy mayo, chile verde, bacon, melted cheese, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, and onion. Then, for a little bit of both worlds, the surf and turf burger shares a bun with a handful of shrimp.
Therefore, there’s a lot to try at the new concept on Fourth Avenue.

They’ve only been open for a few weeks but they’re already introducing karaoke nights (usually Saturdays from 6 – 9 p.m.), and a Thursday special from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. (buy two tacos and get one free with $6 margaritas).
Also, all University of Arizona and Pima Community College students get 10% off from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday – Friday (bring your student I.D.).
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Sunday.
