Why We’re Doing This

Tucson has more food trucks per capita than cities like LA and Austin, yet they’re harder to find because they don’t cluster in pods the way they do elsewhere. That means some of the best food in town is rolling around the city, waiting to be discovered.

We’re making it easier by bringing them all together for a day. Food trucks have always played a huge role in Tucson’s culinary evolution — some even go on to open brick-and-mortar spots. One of my favorites, El Antojo Poblano, started as a truck before becoming a full-fledged restaurant. Who’s next? You might just find your new favorite here.

The free admission event at Casino Del Sol’s AVA Amphitheater, 5655 W. Valencia Rd., starts at 7 p.m. on these dates:

Each roundup will have popular repeats shuffled in with some new trucks so you can always get your favorites and try some new stuff. We’re still recruiting additional food trucks for October and beyond, so those interested can email their available dates to shane@tucsonfoodie.com.
