Flores Concepts announced they are opening their new restaurant Charro Del Rey on Wednesday, January 9.
The seafood-focused restaurant will open next door to sister restaurant Charro Steak at 178 E. Broadway Blvd., which previously housed Even Stevens Sandwiches.
“As we considered doing this, we wanted a place that pays respects to my uncle who passed last year, as well as all things Charro [and] my father, whose nickname is king,” said Ray Flores Jr., president of Flores Concepts.
Seafood will be sourced mostly from the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.
Chefs Carlotta Flores and Gary Hickey developed the menu featuring their take on vintage recipes, Mexican seafood, and more with inspiration from Culiacán, Sinaloa, and San Carlos.

Additionally, guests can look forward to a variety of beef carpaccios, aguachiles, ceviches, seafood fideos and pastas, oyster shots, caldos de mar, fresh fish of the day, and a raw seafood bar.
The beverage menu will have a focus on punch bowls and sparkling wines.
Charro Del Rey is working on finalizing their menu at the moment, so items are subject to change.
