  • Songwriting Competition Finals and Headliner at Plaza Stage

    Friday night, the festival opens with our annual songwriting competition at the Jacome Plaza Stage along with evening performances by a Local Headliner and our previous Songwriting Competition winners.
  • Agave Heritage Festival: Spirit of Sonora at the Tucson Folk Festival

    From 6–8 PM, celebrate the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Sonoran desert in Jacome Plaza with the Spirit of Sonora. Enjoy live music, artisan vendors, and tastings of Sonoran spirits like bacanora and sotol paired with regional foods. Free and open to all ages!

IOU Sushi III has closed. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on North Oracle Road announced the news on Facebook after about 10 years in Tucson. “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write,” the owners said. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it. Inside, martinis share space with JFK memorabilia, a vintage atomic chandelier, and a suit of armor named Charlie. “Tucson is changing so much, but this has stayed the same.
