Join Arizona filmmaker Alex Edwards for the premiere of his documentary memoir, Before I Get Sillier, at The Loft Cinema in Tucson. The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., where guests can enjoy The Loft’s locally sourced food menu and classic movie snacks before the screening starts at 6 p.m.

The film tells the moving story of Alex’s mother, Colleen Combs, as she reflects on family, loss, resilience, and life after a medical event that changed her memory and led to a dementia diagnosis at age 55. Created over the past five months using interviews, family photographs, and personal stories, the documentary was developed with Colleen’s active participation. Following the screening, guests are invited to stay for a special Q&A hosted by Tucson educator and world-record-holding competitive eater Michelle Lesco, a close friend of the filmmakers.
