The times are changing, but the pizzeria’s authenticity remains the same.
In order to give thanks, Vero Amore is celebrating ten years at it’s original Dove Mountain location with food specials throughout the month of December.
Back when Vero Amore opened in 2008, it was the first Verace Pizzeria Napoletana certified restaurant in Arizona. At the time, there were only 28 certified pizzerias in the United States. It’s also one of only 250 in the world. From there, the restaurant rode its success and set the stage for its second location at Tangerine Rd. and La Cholla Blvd.
To send a big “thank you” in an edible form, Vero Amore is offering specials, including 10 special menu items throughout the week for $10 each, and other “$10 Tuesday” specials that feature a Margherita Pizza and a glass of wine for $10.
These deals are also only available at the Dove Mountain location — the other location can celebrate once it’s been around long enough.
While a lot has changed over the last decade, Vero Amore continues to think of the future with plans of expanding its kitchen, enlarging the bar, and adding more seating out on the patio.
Vero Amore Dove Mountain is located at 12130 N. Dove Mountain Blvd. Ste. 104, Marana, AZ 85658. For more information on the location, menu, and hours, visit veroamore.com.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
