Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is a sight to be seen and the beauty that Chef Christian Padilla is creating in the kitchen at Flying V Bar & Grill is equally as admirable.

“I’ve been cooking for about 21 years already,” said Padilla. “I mostly cooked Italian food when I was up in Seattle for about six years, and then I became a chef of a French restaurant where I started diving more into French cuisine. Then, I thought it would be a fun idea to kind of twist it by incorporating Mexican flavors.”

About six months ago, Padilla began putting his special touch on the menu at Flying V Bar & Grill. In that time, he’s launched two different menus — both have been a display of the Sonoran flavors he grew up with.

“I’m giving it a fun twist in a more fine dining scenario,” said Padilla. “Dishes that are more refreshing — dishes that are brightly colored.”

Keep scrolling for a nifty photographic tour of some of Flying V Bar & Grill’s most delicious dishes.
