Save the date for an R&D Dinner Experience at La Olla Mexican Cafe. **Welcome Tucson Foodie** • Begin your meal with one of La Olla's house specialty margaritas ***Appetizers*** **Empanada and Diablo Chico** • An empanada stuffed with cilantro-basil pesto shrimp, sweet corn, green chiles and manchego cheese, paired with a yellow pepper stuffed with shrimp, green onions and cheese, wrapped with bacon. **Tortilla Soup** • Roasted anaheim chiles, onions, and tomatoes slow simmered in chicken stock, garnished with avocado, manchego cheese, and sour cream. ***Entrees*** **Surf and Turf** • Butterflied shrimp stuffed with manchego cheese wrapped with bacon and roasted green chili, topped corn salsa. • Carne asada, served with rice, beans. calabacitas, and a warm flour tortilla ***Dessert*** **Ice cream and Cookies** • Rich dark chocolate jalapeño ice cream, drizzled with raspberry coulis and sauce anglaise, garnished with candied pecans with Mexican wedding cookies.

The fast-casual concept will feature about 75% of the original menu, plus two exclusive offerings: build-your-own Kumpir, a Turkish stuffed baked potato, and fresh in-house ground doner. The restaurant is currently working through permits and remodeling, with a grand opening date expected to be announced soon.
