10 Spots To Get Your Asian Buffet Fix

10 Spots To Get Your Asian Buffet Fix

Aug 13, 20156 min read

Asian buffets are aplenty in Tucson, from the most grandiose to the more subtle. Below are 10 Asian buffets offering copious amounts of chow mein, crab rangoons, oysters, and sushi. But before you enter the Asian food abyss, here are a few things to know.

  1. Check the times. Most buffets refresh their supply at dinner service. This means that as the sun goes down, silver trays of the freshest beef broccoli and other asian specialities will begin ushering out of the kitchen just for you.
  2. Prepare your stomach. Now I don’t mean starve yourself 24-hours in advance. Instead, hydrate yourself. Trust me when I say, water is your friend.
  3. Give yourself plenty of time. A buffet is not a place for a quick bite. Cancel your plans because your going to want a few hours to really get to know the buffet and your eating capabilities.
  4. Pace yourself. Unless you are a competitive eater, start out with small portions. Sample everything before committing yourself to one outlandishly large portion of orange chicken.
  5. Enjoy the experience. Take a break between plates, walk around, and absorb your surroundings. You may be surprised by how often you will want to return.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
