Since 2018, the women-owned restaurant, Ensenada Street Food, has been serving up the goods for lunch and dinner, but now the crew is diving into new territory.
Last week, the restaurant at 1602 S. Park Ave. debuted its brand-new breakfast menu, which is available from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday – Saturday.
This breakfast is definitely worthy of setting a morning alarm and not hitting snooze. With big portion sizes and ridiculously flavorful food, $9.99 for breakfast and a drink is a steal.
For the vegan breakfast meal, choose between chilaquiles, pancakes, or a thick breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito options include sausage and tofu, chorizo and potatoes (my favorite), veggie, or beans, rice, and vegan cheese.
Sip on coffee, water, or juice between bites. Almond milk is available as a creamer for those avoiding dairy.
“There’s a lot of families that come in groups of eight to 10 people and just one is vegan,” said Magdalena Alvarez, owner of Ensenada Street Food. “They say, ‘we usually go to places and there are no choices for me, the veggie thing or the salad, and now I can eat with my family and I can have ceviche, I can have birria, I can have everything they have.’ I was like, oh, I did it! Everyone can come and have something. That’s been the purpose since the beginning.”
Take a look below at the menu they’re now offering in the earlier hours of the day.
They’ll still be serving their regular menu from 12:30 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday – Thursday and 12:30 – 9 p.m. on Friday – Saturday.
