Children’s Entrepreneur Market is Coming to Fourth Avenue

The Children’s Entrepreneur Market is a program that’s currently teaching young folks about “the power of entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership through experiential learning.”

From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, the Children’s Entrepreneur Market is free to attend on Fourth Avenue. All of the youngsters and their booths will be lining the sidewalks between Sixth Street and Eighth Street.

The markets first started in Utah and have helped nearly 10,000 kids before expanding to 15 additional states (Arizona is one of those states). The Tucson market sold out pretty fast so there ought to be a wide range of local products out on Fourth Avenue.

We don’t have the list of vendors but you can bet they’ll be pretty creative. You never know, maybe we’ll see a classic lemonade stand.

“Parents and kids everywhere agree that learning and earning in a competitive environment is a unique and fun experience,” the Children’s Entrepreneur Market shared. “Kids rise to the challenge of deciding what to sell, creating a booth, talking to customers, and handling money. A growing number of markets showcase returning youth entrepreneurs who desire additional development of their skills and small businesses.”

One of the neatest things about the market is that it situates kids in front of “real people, with real money amongst some healthy competition.” The team behind the Children’s Entrepreneur Market also provides additional support like video lessons, curriculum, scholarships, and a blog series to share lessons and experiences from kids, for kids.

So, stop by Fourth Avenue this weekend (between Sixth Street and Eighth Street) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and check out what the local kids are making.
