New Restaurant ‘Copal’ is Coming Soon to Broadway

Alex Bohon and his father Otto Ramon Bohon — the family of the beloved south side restaurant, Taqueria La Esquina — are opening a brand-new concept on Broadway Boulevard near Craycroft Road.

The new restaurant will be named Copal and is moving into the former spot that formerly housed The Dutch at 5340 E. Broadway Blvd.

For those familiar with The Dutch, the entire space is at least twice the size of Taqueria La Esquina (4876 S. Sixth Ave.). Copal inherits the large dining area, which will serve some of the staples found at La Esquina like tacos, Sonoran hot dogs, and inventive margaritas.

Speaking of the bar, they’ll have an extensive agave menu, too.

Aside from the indoor seating, there are going to be three patios.

Stay tuned for more information about the hours of operation and full menu. The family is aiming to have the restaurant open by mid-April 2024.
