Extrava-Ganja With Tucson Doobie and Big Sexy’s Wangs and Thangs

Extrava-Ganja With Tucson Doobie and Big Sexy’s Wangs and Thangs

Aug 20, 20242 min read

What’s big, sexy, juicy, and full of flavor?

Brandon “Big Sexy” Nappo, owner of newly established food truck, Big Sexy’s Chicken Wangs and Thangs, hopes you think it’s his wangs (wings) and thangs (burgers and more).

You can check ’em out for yourself at Tucson Doobie’s next Extrava-Ganja from 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23. This month’s big event is taking place at Stellar Lounge, 1112 S. Wilmot Rd.

As one of Tucson’s newest food trucks, the opening in May of 2024 was the first step toward Nappo’s goal of owning a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

“It has always been my dream to own my own sports bar,” he said. “Everything I read said ‘start as a food truck and then
go brick and mortar’… So, that’s where I’m at.”

With a background in the restaurant industry (Nappo worked as a multi-site General Manager at Native Grill and Wings for over a decade), Nappo began his food truck venture with the support of his family and his fiancé Angela.

“My friends and family help me run it; [they] watch the kids while we are at events. My cousin helped with social media and marketing. My brothers helped on the decals for my truck. I say it’s a family thing because it truly is!”

“Big Sexy” and his newly-minted food truck will be stationed at Tucson Doobie’s upcoming Extrava-Ganja event at Stellar Lounge. Joining the ExtravaGanja are two local dispensaries, D2 Dispensaries and Sol Flower Dispensaries, each providing cannabis products for patrons to enjoy.

Stellar Lounge will be supplying board games, a PlayStation, and more. DJ DocZion will be spinning a mix of house tunes. Additional vendors also on-site, include Slim’s Cannabis Culture and Simply Professional Formula.

Big Sexy’s Chicken Wangs and Thangs features four burger options, chicken wings, corndogs, hot dogs with chili, and even a Frito Pie. Side options include waffle-cut fries, onion rings, mac and cheese, or chips. Try the “Big Sexy” Burger, loaded with two
all-beef patties, onion rings, cheddar, and barbecue sauce!

Tickets to Tucson Doobie’s ExtravaGanja are just $15 and can be purchased here.

@Bktacos made @Nytimes’ list of 41 standout Mexican restaurants across the country. Published Aug. 13, the list was compiled by reporters, editors and photographers who spent more than a year traveling the U.S.

BK was the only Tucson restaurant included. Writer Bill Esparza highlighted its combination of Sonora-style carne asada and Sonoran hot dogs, a pairing he noted is distinct to Arizona. Benjamin and Karel Galaz, originally from Nacozari, Sonora, opened the restaurant in 1994.

Congratulations, @bktacos!🎉
