Three-day weekends are a treasure in the eyes of many.
When Labor Day rolls around, it’s the perfect excuse to fire up the grill, soak up the last bit of summer, and celebrate all the hard work you’ve put in all year.
Here in Tucson, there are a few events worth checking out if you’re in the mood to get out of the house, mingle with friends or strangers, and support local businesses (PAY ATTENTION TO DATES).
To celebrate their first anniversary, the team at CORBETT’S is hosting a five-day birthday party from Thursday, August 29 – Monday, September 2.
Each day of the birthday bash they’ll bring a new theme, ensuring that something is exciting for most people to join in on. From glow pickleball to a Pickle Ball, tailgate party, lawn games, water balloon fights, and more, the festivities ought to keep you busy this Labor Day weekend.
The Famous Sam’s on Golf Links Road is hosting a dance part on Saturday, August 31. “We bringing dancing back!”
“Aloha! Celebrate Labor Day Weekend at Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Our second annual Labor Day Luau will be on Sunday, September 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. Join us for a fun-filled evening featuring a sumptuous Hawaiian-inspired buffet, handcrafted tiki-themed cocktails, with live music, and hula dancers.”
Tickets are $75 per person and include a buffet, souvenir tiki mug, and one tiki cocktail or mocktail.
On Monday, September 2, the Hotel Congress Plaza stage is hosting a Labor Day Blues Bash with Johnny Rawls & Bad News Blues. Tickets are $12 and music starts at 6 p.m.
Tucson’s JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa will be saying farewell to summer 2024 with a myriad of guest activities over the Labor Day Weekend. Resort guests will experience four days of fun-filled programming, from Friday, August 30th through Monday, September 2.
From 1 – 4 p.m., there’s going to be reggae on the mountain for Labor Day weekend (Saturday, August 31).

The Tucson Comic Con returns from Friday, August 30 – Sunday, September 1. It’ll be a pretty entertaining way to celebrate the long weekend! Also, don’t forget to eat and support local businesses. Check out our guide to eating and drinking downtown.
Spend the day relaxing and enjoying some amazing Arizona wine! You’ll visit three vineyards with five to six tastings at each vineyard. Then, enjoy a delicious lunch with snacks and water throughout the day in Sonoita, Willcox, or Sedona (your choice).
The Queen Creek Olive Mill is hosting a Labor Day Weekend Sangria Social on Saturday, August 31 starting at 11 a.m., complete with four seasonal-inspired housemade sangrias. Grab a glass of house-made sangria to enjoy at a table inside, outside on the shaded patio, or in the olive grove!
On Labor Day (Monday, September 2), the Queen Creek Olive Mill will be hosting a ‘Grill at the Mill’ event from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The celebration will include grill-inspired menus, games in the grove, and more! Free admission.
