Located in the Joesler Village shopping complex — the northwest corner of East River Road and North Campbell Avenue — the restaurant has been going through some renovations.

A bright new sign outside, hand-painted murals inside, and new decorations in a dining room that has since expanded into the former Edward Jones space — the Salazars are officially ready to debut their changes at Villa Peru.

So, after a year of construction at 1745 E. River Rd. #165, the family is hosting a Grand Reopening celebration from 5 – 10 p.m. on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12.

Villa Peru will be serving a special menu filled with Peru’s popular, cultural dishes along with a Pisco Bar. There’s going to be whole lobster, tomahawk steak, and other new dishes that have been added to their everyday menu.

“I can’t wait to show you all,” said Frida Hunt, co-owner and daughter of co-owners Walter and Frida Salazar. “It looks beautiful — it looks great. So, don’t make plans for the weekend. Make plans to come see our big Grand Reopening! We’re going to be here waiting for you with a new menu, new items, and we’re going to have a toast to show you how much love we’ve put into this place — we’ve made it bigger and better for you.”

Did you know Villa Peru landed on Yelp’s latest “Top 20 Ceviche Spots” in the country? The local restaurant is number 15, sitting on the same list with other greats found in New York, Hawaii, Austin, Texas, and more!

“Villa Peru’s ceviche is so delicious that once a month the elegant Tucson spot throws an on-site ‘Ceviche Festival,’ showcasing nearly 20 different varieties,” Yelp shared.

One of the new additions to the restaurant is a private dining room that seats up to 12 to 14 people. Gather a bunch of your closest friends and order some Conchas Negras, made with black clams, rocoto pepper, and cancha (toasted corn), and Ceviche de Lobster (poached lobster tail, yucca, and choclo).

Also, reservations are recommended during the Grand Reopening celebration — you can do so on their website. Stop by from 5 – 10 p.m. on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12.

Villa Peru is located at 1745 E. River Rd. #165 in Joesler Village. For more information, visit villaperutucson.com.
