The Dirtburger and spicy Dirtfries are excellent. It’s been called the “best college bar in the U.S.,” and once you’ve been, you’ll get why. They’ve also expanded and opened a new location in the Phoenix area.

Screwbean Brewing Company offers diverse beverages including house-brewed beers, hard seltzer cocktails, and Phoenix’s Provision Coffee. Located in a historic building and named after the Screwbean Mesquite, the venue provides a modern-industrial taproom and spacious patios. Owner Matthew Taylor serves a variety of beers and collaborates with local food vendors for an array of snacks and meals.
Snakes & Lattes is more than just a cafĂ© — it’s a board game paradise. You’ll find a ton of games to choose from and some pretty tasty cafĂ© classics on the menu. It’s the perfect spot for a fun, chill hang.
If you’ve been down to Screwbean Brewing, you’ll notice a vintage trailer parked in the front parking lot — decked out in neon lights, shiny chrome, and old-school vibes. Substance Diner has created a vegan chicken sandwich that even meat lovers can’t get enough of. It’s called the Spicy Fricken Sandwich. Between the sesame seed Kaiser roll bun is a scratch-made seitan cutlet, which is made of wheat gluten and is then crusted in hot spices and deep-fried. On top of the savory cutlet is shredded lettuce, organic tomato, dill pickles, Frankenaise (spicy vegan mayo).
A must visit for any sushi lover, Sushi Cho has an abundance of top-notch sushi options (try the Rainbow Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll, for starters). A tempting array of cooked Japanese and Chinese dishes are available too.
The market features a grocery, shelves of local and imported goods, a restaurant, kitchen, wood-fire pizza oven, deli, a bar serving a variety of drinks as well as an outdoor patio.
Trident Pizza Pub is a sports bar with a twist, serving up a variety of gourmet pizzas in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. It’s known for such creative combinations as the “BBQ Chicken Pizza” and “The Greek.” Add to that a wide selection of beer and a convenient location right off campus? Can’t beat it.
Tucked in the back of the Geronimo Courtyard on Main Gate Square, Turkish Kebab House took over the former Sinbad’s location. Babaganoush, Tzatziki, Greek Fries, Chicken Meatball Wraps, and more! Sit outside and enjoy nature while you’re dining at the Kebab House.
Unitea is more than just a bubble tea shop. They’ve got frozen yogurt, mochi donuts, and lots of other sweet stuff. The Brown Sugar Boba Swirl Cup is a game-changer. The place is super modern and bright, and the menu is always surprising.
The go-to spot when you’re craving Asian food but can’t decide on a particular dish. You pick your ingredients, and they whip up your “Wok of Art.” More decisive? The Mongolian Bowl is a crowd-pleaser, and the Spicy Honey Garlic Bowl stands out too. And let’s not forget about the Pho Bowl, a student favorite.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, be sure to check out Woops! The French macarons are Paris-quality, especially the Honey Lavender and Nutella flavors. They are also gluten-free and non-GMO. Don’t only want sweets? The coffee and sandwiches here are excellent too.
This little spot is all about keeping it real with Szechuan, Cantonese, and Hunan dishes; the fact that many Chinese students frequent this place is a testament to its authenticity. If you don’t want to experiment with the more exotic offerings, the Stir Fried Beef Noodles and spicy Braised Eggplant are good bets.
