The Fourth Avenue Merchants Association (FAMA) is excited to announce that the community’s fair is back next weekend. The long-standing 54th annual tradition will take place Friday, March 24 – Sunday, March 26 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday.

Every year, the Fourth Avenue Street Fair receives local, national, and international recognition and media for offering something for everyone. One neat tidbit about the Spring Street Fair is that The Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats” will be filming a new episode, featuring many of this season’s food vendors.
There will be over 400 Artists, fair food, an amazing line-up of musicians, performers, buskers, dancers, beer, amazing Tucson spring weather, and much more. This event draws over 300,000 people and employs hundreds of workers during the three days of bringing together our community through arts, and culture.

The Spring fair will also provide some new experiences to enjoy like the Euro-Trampoline (west Seventh Street), Ben’s Bells Pop-up Community Art Studio (Haggarty Plaza), Riteway Heating & Cooling CoolZone (a great way to cool off), DrinkAZ Lounge, the Ram Plumbing Fifth Street Stage sponsored by KHYT, KIIM FM, and The Vibe with local performers that competed for their spot on the stage.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
