Breakfast burritos make a hearty breakfast to power you through the day but let’s be real here, they should be called ‘hangover burritos’.
Like pizza, mediocre versions are still satisfying. As long as the tortilla is local and the eggs aren’t overcooked, chances are it’s a solid burrito.
Some places take it to the next level with fluffy house-made tortillas or spicy house-made chorizo. Here’s our list of the five best breakfast burritos in Tucson.
Anita Street Market
849 N. Anita Ave. Ste. 300

Anita’s fluffy flour tortillas are the star of their burros. You could eat the tortillas simply with butter or even on their own.
However, enjoy it in a burro wrapped using their proprietary method with ribbons folding through. The superb house-made chorizo melds well for a match made in burro heaven.

Barista Del Barrio
1002 N. Grande Ave.

Instead of a single massive burro, Barista Del Barrio gives two smaller breakfast burritos in each order. They also include beans and a side of potent, oregano-fragrant spicy salsa. The custom-spiced chorizo is the star here, though be warned — it is on the spicier side along with the salsa.

Paco’s Mexican Food
5563 E. Grant Rd.
