Here’s one for the history books.

The Arizona History Museum is hosting an evening of craft beer and local food with History on Tap from 6 – 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 27.

During the 1860s, back before you could even spell the word beer, a cold one was hard to come by in the scorching Tucson heat.

Luckily, Prussian brewer Alexander Levin came to the rescue and opened Pioneer Brewery in 1864, finally giving locals access to craft beer.

Now, the museum is stepping back in time to let you experience the 19th century by recreating Levin’s beer garden, and bringing in live music by the Old Arizona Brass Band.

Admission to the historic event includes 10 drink tickets, a souvenir tasting mug, and admission to the Arizona History Museum.

$40 General Admission
$30 Member Admission
$20 Designated Driver Admission

Tickets are limited to only 800 people, so you’ll want to buy them soon.

Free validated parking will be available at Main Gate Garage, and proceeds from the event will support further programming at the museum.
