This year, multiple online publications like VinePair and Forbes have praised PARCH — a local mocktail company that creates non-alcoholic beverages infused with desert botanicals and adaptogens.
You can find PARCH non-alcoholic mocktails at local spots in town like Hotel McCoy, 5 Points Market & Restaurant, Westbound, and Flora’s Market Run. Also, did you know that a lot of PARCH’s research and development of the drinks have taken place at Mission Garden?

Earlier this year, Forbes wrote about PARCH’s Spiced Piñarita, saying that the “heat, sourness and bitterness helps mimic an alcoholic tang and burn.” Also, its “beautiful blush pink color” reminds them of “a desert sunset.”
In 2023, PARCH won a $20,000 grant and six-month mentorship with the Greenhouse Accelerator program. The collaborative accelerator program is designed to help the growth of “emerging and sustainable brands in the food and beverage sector.”
The program keeps an eye out for “breakthrough start-ups” and donates funds to help grow their businesses even more.
VinePair, a publication that’s won international awards for its journalistic approach, had this to say about the Tucson-based mocktail creator:
“Tucson-based Parch is the first non-alcoholic, Blue Weber agave-based canned beverage to hit markets. Both available flavors, Spiced Piñatara and Prickly Paloma, are made by roasting and crushing agave piñas before infusing the nectar with more than 10 Sonoran Desert botanicals, fruits, herbs, and roots.”

“Instead of alcohol, each can of Parch contains an adaptogenic blend that includes ashwagandha, L-theanine, and American ginseng. We’re especially partial to the Spiced Piñatara flavor, which offers delectable vegetal agave notes and spice that continues to build and gently warm the mouth, mimicking the heat of a true spicy margarita.”
So, if you’re looking for something minus the dizzy spells and unnecessary sugars, grab a PARCH and celebrate another local brand that’s making a national impact.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
