[03/18/2026 update: the Hungry Fox posted on their Instagram page to indicate they are back open for business.
“Ok Hungry foxes we are officially open!! Thank you for all the support and love from all of yall while we figured this out. We’re open from 6:30-2:00pm every day 🍳🥓🦊”]
A longtime Tucson diner, the Hungry Fox at 4637 E. Broadway Blvd., has closed temporarily after a car crashed into the building. The business shut down for repairs and renovations following the incident. As a result, employees now face several weeks without income.
Restaurant staff reached out to Tucson Food Tours co-owner Bradner Lawrence, who shared a collaborative video with the restaurant’s social media. [the video has since been removed; see the update above]
Staff faces financial strain
Workers at The Hungry Fox depend on steady wages to cover basic living expenses. The closure removes that income stream for weeks.
“This means that for the next several weeks, the dedicated employees who make The Hungry Fox so special will be without work and income,” Lawrence wrote on the GoFundMe page he created to assist the employees. Donations will go directly to staff.
Furthermore, some employees may need to seek temporary work elsewhere. That shift could affect the restaurant’s ability to reopen with its full team.
Looking ahead to reopening
The Hungry Fox plans to reopen after completing repairs and renovations. Supporters hope the diner returns with its full staff intact.
“Anything helps, and together, we can make sure The Hungry Fox family stays strong and ready to welcome everyone back when the doors reopen,” Lawrence wrote.
