Although technically Cinco de Mayo is on Monday, you can’t forgive Tucsonans for starting to party early. Myself, I’ve been drinking tequila since 9am this morning. But, I kid.
Agave Fest
Hotel Congress is hosting their 6th annual seance to the plant that makes Mexican liquor possible tonight from 7 to 10pm. It’s $40 in advance, and obviously, 21 and up. If you get there at 5pm, you can get in on the Agave 101 action – a primer to agave spirits such as Bacanora, Sotol, Mezcal, and Tequila.

Spring Bazaar & El Dia de Panadero
The Mercado san Agustín will host the 2nd annual Spring Bazaar. While it’s not technically a food event, there are some interesting things happening in addition to being surrounded by Agustín Kitchen, Stella Java, Blu: A Cheese Stop, and Seis Kitchen. And what is that exactly? El Dia de Panadero. On Sunday from 10am -2pm, ten of Tucson’s best bakers including Barrio Bread, Small Planet Bakery, Nadines, Saffron Indian Bakery, Bavier’s Bakery, and La Estrella Bakery will be present with talks, demos, and of course, plenty of their baked goods.
