Where to grab a bite this Easter: 2021 Edition

Finding a great place to eat with the family, or bringing a local meal home this Easter doesn’t need to be a drawn-out egg hunt.

Whether you’re looking for a morning or evening of elegance or a quick bite with the family, there’s no need to track down the perfect event by yourself.

One of the following restaurants should do just the trick for Sunday, April 04. Keep in mind that some of these events are happening earlier on the weekend.

The Carriage House

Chef Janos Wilder has created a delectable menu for Easter weekend. All dishes are a la carte and can be ordered for pickup on Friday, April 2 – Sunday, April 4 at the Carriage House.

Orders must be placed no later than midnight on Wednesday, March 31.

Easter Menu

Salads (choice of at $5)
  • Downtown Caesar Salad – with grana talia and giant garlic croutons (Italian, marinated anchovies +$2.50)
  • Baja Arizona Gardener’s Crudite – with snap peas, green beans, I’itoi onions, radishes, and carrots on ricotta with fig jam
Main Course (choice of)
  • Minted Pesto Wrapped Roast Lamb Loin and the Truth About Potatoes ($28) – honeyed ginger carrots and minted port sauce
  • Roast Rack of Pork with Brandied Orange Glaze ($26) – bacon/fennel white beans and brussels sprouts with golden raisin and lemon
  • Spring Vegetable Pasta, Mushroom Brodo, Pea Cream ($24) – snap peas, carrots green beans, green beans, baby bok choy, sweet onions, herbs, and grana Padano
Dessert ($5)
  • Lemon Bundt Cake with Citrus Glaze – macerated strawberries and blueberries

Charro Steak & Del Rey

There’s an Easter Brunch taking place at Charro Steak & Del Rey. They’re currently taking reservations and will be open 11 a.m. –  8 p.m. The restaurants have teamed up with Cruz farms to bring you an “Eggciting Easter Sunday.” The regular menu will be available, too.

El Charro Cafe

On top of its regular menu, El Charro is offering a special Easter menu as well. The limited dishes include Eggs Benedict Sonoran Style, Grilled Camarones and Corn Tamale Cake, Breakfast Tacos, and Carne Seca Breakfast Chimi. All of these dishes come with seasoned potatoes, frijoles, and fruta.

Cup Cafe at Hotel Congress

In lieu of our popular Sunday brunch menu, Cup Café is offering a special, prix fixe Easter brunch feast. As just a reminder, reservations are required for this holiday dining experience.

Seats are $55 per adult, $25 for kids, and will be seating from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Easter Weekend Festivities

There are going to be Easter activities for the whole family at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa over the holiday weekend, Friday, April 2 – Sunday, April 4. There’s going to be arts and crafts, a watermelon eating contest, egg relay race, water balloon toss, a resort-wide golden egg hunt, and an official Easter egg hunt on the Meecha Lawn on Sunday morning. The Easter Bunny himself will be making an appearance, too.

You must be a registered overnight resort guest or have brunch reservations to participate in the festivities.

The Parish

The Parish is offering an exclusive menu from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Dishes include Mesquite Smoked Salmon, Shrimp and Grits, gumbo, and more. It’d be a good idea to make reservations sooner rather than later.

Many people already know that the midtown spot has $5 pitchers and glasses of wine until 5 p.m., but now they’re going to be serving an Easter brunch to coincide with Happy Hour.

All weekend, Postino will be offering a variety of brunch items for the holiday starting at 9 a.m., and you’ll be able to order to-go or delivery, too.

At a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.

He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
