Aug 20, 20152 min read

This Labor Day Weekend, ditch the backyard grill and swimming pool to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of Tucson’s favorite bars and music venues.

Club Congress, located inside the historic Hotel Congress, is kicking off their thirtieth-anniversary celebration by taking the hotel’s annual HoCo Fest to the next level. They have enlisted the help of Four Peaks Brewing Company and Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine Tequila to pull off “the greatest indoor/outdoor music festival in Tucson”, and we would expect nothing less.

They have booked over 40 musical acts, a dozen Tucson reunion shows, internationally-renowned acts from London to Mexico City, taco and BBQ parties each day, and the first ever Tucson Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum hosted in the lobby and Copper Hall.

The party starts on Friday, September 4 and runs through Sunday, September 6. All events are 21+.

@Lovinspoonfulstucson is closing after more than 20 years in Tucson. Its final day of service runs on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Customers can stop in between now and Saturday for one last meal. The team plans to sell down its inventory, though it hopes to have favorite dishes available. Regular hours remain 9am-3pm through the final day.

“Running this kitchen has been a labor of love, but the numbers just aren’t adding up anymore, and as parents, we have to make the hard choice to step back and take care of what matters most at home.”

A little love for the chefs who make Tucson’s food scene so special. These are just some of the many talented chefs who make our city what it is.

Happy International Chefs Day to the talented people behind the plates, the creativity, and the meals we keep coming back for. Tucson’s food scene draws people to the city year-round. Locals and visitors alike also appreciate the chance to eat outdoors from October through April, when daytime highs often settle in the 60s and 70s. Even on “cold” evenings, a patio with a heater or fire pit keeps dinner comfortable.

Whether you want a quiet brunch, a lively happy hour, or a long dinner under the stars, this list offers a place to start. Check each restaurant’s hours before you go, since patio seating may vary by weather and season. More details on Tucsonfoodie.com.🌞
