It’s all about raising awareness — and your heart rate, too.
Lace up your shoes because the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is hosting its annual HungerWalk on Saturday, September 11.
If you’ve never joined in on the event, it’s a family-friendly walk that provides a chance to “get out, get active, and give back.” The end result is a fun way to raise awareness and end hunger in our communities.
This year, the HungerWalk is a hybrid event, meaning that there is more than one way to participate. After the success of last year’s walk, the Community Food Bank is implementing the same options.
You’ve got the choice of joining a small meet-up group to walk together in person, participating in the Community Food Bank’s virtual walk by walking when and wherever you’d like, or donating online to support other walkers.
You must register for the walk and it’s $25 for adults, $10 for children six to 11 years old, and anyone five years and younger can walk for free.
At the moment, there are already some small group meet-ups happening in the community. All of the groups will be walking between 8 – 10 a.m., so take a look at the options when registering online. Attendance is capped at a specific amount so follow the prompts to select your location when signing up.
