In a tease of a preview, Japanese restaurant Kukai at the MSA Annex posted its first image on Instagram.

In case you don’t recognize the logo, it’s onigiri, which consists of rice formed into triangular or cylindrical shapes and wrapped in seaweed. Onigiri is popular in Japan as a convenience food but hasn’t caught on in Tucson quite yet.

The restaurant will also feature fresh Japanese food with dishes such as rice bowls and hand rolls.
More details to come; stay tuned.
Kukai is located at the MSA Annex, 267 S. Avenida del Convento. Keep up with Kukai on Instagram.
